ODU Professor Discusses Uneven Sea Level Rise

Dr. Tal Ezer will present "The Gulf Stream and Sea Level Rise" at the Environmental Forum, Friday, March 3, 2017, 7:00 PM Unitarian Church of Norfolk, 739 Yarmouth St, Norfolk, VA (on the Hague near the Chrysler Museum).  RSVP helpful but not required to UCN.Forum@gmail.com

Global sea level rise has been measured for more than 100 years and the data show that sea level is not rising evenly. The Mid-Atlantic coast of the United States is one of those regions where sea level rise is much faster than normal and rates are increasing, making the region a “hotspot of accelerated sea level rise.”  ODU PROFESSOR of Ocean, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences, Dr. Ezer will offer insights and results of his research that will help us understand why this is happening.
