About WCAN
Mission
The Williamsburg Climate Action Network (WCAN) is a non-profit, grassroots, environmental organization organized in early 2007 as a local chapter of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN). Our mission is to educate the public and take action on climate change issues by promoting energy efficiency, energy conservation, and the use of renewable energy. We are your neighbors and friends who work on a voluntary basis to promote our mission, recognizing that power comes not from being individual but being connected. We also recognize the environmental movement is a part of the larger shift in human consciousness toward the common goal of a compassionate, sustainable future that recognizes and supports the inter-connectedness of all life.
