The Williamsburg Climate Action Network (WCAN) is a social profit, public benefit, grassroots, environmental organization organized in early 2007 to heighten awareness and take action on global warming. Our mission is to compel the community to act in defense of our natural environment by promoting energy efficiency, energy conservation, and the use of renewable energy.

To accomplish its mission, WCAN:
• helps people see their inter-connectedness to the natural environment
• educates the public on how individual actions contribute to our mission
• engages in the political process to promote sustainable energy and environmental policy.

We are your neighbors and friends who work on a voluntary basis to promote our mission, recognizing that power comes not from being individual but being connected. We also recognize the environmental movement is a part of the larger shift in human consciousness toward the common goal of a compassionate, sustainable future that recognizes and supports the inter-connectedness of all life.

A more sustainable world will be created with a well informed citizenry who has a constant flow of honest information and who has the opportunity to fully participate in creating and putting into action solutions to our most pressing environmental challenges..
There are an endless number of ways to make a positive contribution. WCAN has been working at all levels (youth, adults, government, business) to make a difference. We hope you will come join us!
