This site provides information on which states have mandatory requirements that their electric utilities to generate a certain amount of electricity from renewable sources, and which states have voluntary requirements. Virginia's RPS is voluntary. A Mandatory Renewable Portfolio Standard is needed in order to promote clean sustainable sources of energy in Virginia. www.pewclimate.org/what_s_being_done/in_the_states/rps.cfm
